He grew up in Luton having emigrated to the UK as a child.
He attended the local schools and then undertook his medical MBBS degree at Imperial College School of Medicine (University of London) and graduated in 2002. He has a long-standing interest in and extensive experience of commissioning and business management.
Dr Khan completed his Masters (MSc) degree in 2020 in Safeguarding Adults and Children.
He lives locally in Dunstable and is passionate about keeping general practice innovative and tailored to the needs of our patients. He is committed to keeping general practice as an integral part of our local Dunstable (and surrounding community) and a part of its rich tapestry.

Outside of work, Dr Rasanayagam is currently navigating the joys of being a dad to a 2-year-old and loves spending time with his family. He is also the designated chef at home and enjoys cooking nutritious meals- Mexican is his favourite go-to!

Performs clinical examinations of patients to assess, diagnose or monitor a patients condition.
Carries out tests in the surgery to assist with a diagnosis.
Interprets test results to help reach a diagnosis.
Prescribes medication accordingly.
Refer patients to specialists within hospital departments.
Hiba consults with patients for a range of issues, including minor illness, CVD, mental health, asthma, pain management as well as musculoskeletal problems.

He has worked for East of England Ambulance service as a frontline paramedic, with a wealth of experience in dealing with acute medical emergencies and urgent care.
He is trained to clinically assess patients with minor illness/injuries, assist in the management of chronic conditions and provide urgent assessments to patients in our GP practice.
He often carries out in depth health assessments, identifying patients at risk of illness and can provide them with advice and support to mitigate this.
You can also see him for matters you would traditionally see a General Practitioner (GP) for. Arfan can liaise with the GP/ Nurse as well as prescribe.
As well as in person assessment, Arfan often conducts telephone assessments and visits patients in their own homes.

Whilst a paramedic, he has gained a high level of experience in the NHS in a variety of roles, which included working as an assistant general manager overseeing Northwest Hertfordshire, a single responder, as well as holding the role of an on call duty officer.
John retired after 32 years of service.
He is now part of the team at Eastgate Surgery and works as a Healthcare Assistant.
This involves performing blood tests, height/ weight checks, flu vaccinations as well as ECG’s.

She completed her training locally in 2005 and has gained extensive experience.
Audrey worked for Luton Treatment centre from 2006-2008, and a HCA/ Receptionist from 2008-2014.
She has also held the position of Maternity Care Assistant, which involved working closely with midwives in Antenatal Clinics, on the Wards, in the delivery suite and in the community.
In 2014, Audrey worked with a surgeon in Harley Street. She went on to work for Spire Hospital Bushey in the Outpatients department, then onto Harpenden Spire in the theatre department.
In 2016, she returned to working for the NHS.
Audrey undertakes many duties within her role, including health checks, ear syringing, wound care as well as being a smoking cessation counsellor.

Training practice
We are a training practice and you may be offered an appointment with a GP registrar. These doctors are fully qualified and will have had experience in several hospital specialties. They are completing their specialist training as a GP.
We also teach medical students and sometimes you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. You will always be asked beforehand if this is acceptable and you may ask for the student to withdraw if you prefer to have your consultation in private.
